What’s Your Screenome?

A fun exercise that we shared our data with consent to other people in the class anonymously. Then, we will visualize this data (in my case, they are mobile app this person used with screen time and heart rates during the weekend) and people could guess whose data that is after a data visualization. Everyone guessed the exact person I was trying to visualize in my data.

Methods I used: Data collection, Comparing information, Data analysis, Research and Analysis on Apps, Synthesize information, and Data journalism

Final design

Give me your data and I will tell you who you are.

What does this data look like?

75 pages of heart rate and screen time during the weekend.

Research on App function to find clues

Correlate screen time on a particular app and heart rate and tell a story from it for Sep 4th.

Correlate screen time on a particular app and heart rate for Sep 5th.

Analysis on heart rate

At first glance, I noticed there are 6 peaks, I got curious, what happened in there?

I then try to correlate screen time on a particular app and heart rate, and tell a story from it.

At first glance, I noticed there are 6 peaks, I got curious, what happened in there? I then listed possible exercise activity that causes fast heart rate. e.g. Exercises, eating, social media etc.

Further research on screen time and found out about screenome

"Screenome" is a play on the word "genome," which refers to the unique set of genetic material that every living organism contains. It's about more than the total quantity of time you spend on your screen. It's about what you actually do during the hours, minutes and seconds you spend on your screen. The screenome refers to your unique collection of screens that you see on an hourly, daily, weekly and yearly basis.

Ideation

Now let’s put all the research and insights together! The fun and creative part begins :)

Can I relate the screenome concept and identify exactly who this person is?

Play around with sketches, combining screenome, heart rate and app into one visuals to tell a story.

Inspiration

My inspiration comes from Giorgia Lupi. I want to give credits to her, she is one of my favorite designer in this field, I like her aesthetic and ways of thinking in her work. Below are works of Giorgia Lupi.
